    Residence-Based Taxation

    India follows residence-based taxation, meaning global income is taxable if the person is a resident in India. Any foreign income or asset owned or earned during such residency must be disclosed. Failure to do so invites action under the Black Money Act, including tax, penalty, and prosecution.
