    Asset Located Outside India

Any movable or immovable property held outside India?including bank deposits, shares, real estate, or jewelry?is considered a foreign asset. If not disclosed in Indian tax filings, it is treated as black money. The Black Money Act imposes strict penalties and prosecution for nondisclosure, even if the asset was lawfully acquired.
