    Benami Transaction

A benami transaction occurs when property is held in the name of one person, but the consideration is paid by another, concealing the true owner. Such arrangements are often used to hide unaccounted wealth or evade taxes. The Act prohibits these transactions to promote transparency and curb black money circulation in the economy.
