Botnet refers to a network of internet-connected devices?including PCs, servers, mobile phones, and IoT devices?that have been infected with malware and are remotely controlled without the owners? knowledge. Each compromised device, or "bot," can be directed by a central controller (bot-herder) to perform coordinated malicious activities, such as launching large-scale cyberattacks.
