The Act applies even if the bribery occurred outside the UK, provided the individual or entity is UK-incorporated, domiciled, a UK citizen/resident, or a UK partnership. Non-UK companies that trade in the UK may also fall within scope. It establishes a broad jurisdictional reach aimed at combating international corruption.
