    Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)

A Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is a central national agency tasked with receiving, analyzing, and disseminating financial information related to suspected criminal proceeds and potential money laundering activities (UNODC, 2011). FIUs are vital in identifying and preventing financial crimes, including terrorism financing, by providing actionable intelligence to law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
