    Insider Trading

    nsider trading is the buying or selling of a company?s securities by someone who has access to material non-public information about the company. It becomes illegal when the person uses this confidential information for personal gain, violating a duty of trust. Insider trading undermines market fairness and is punishable under securities laws such as SEC Rule 10b-5.
