Special Economic Zone (SEZ) ? FEMA Applicability

SEZs are designated zones where businesses enjoy relaxed economic regulations, including FEMA exemptions. Units in SEZs can hold foreign currency accounts and conduct international transactions more freely. FEMA ensures these benefits align with national forex policies, balancing investor incentives with compliance. Transactions from SEZs must still be reported and monitored to prevent misuse or laundering.
